→ A chemical reaction changes the molecules, where a physical change just rearranges them. For example, if we take chlorine gas and sodium metal and combine them, we get table salt. Table salt is much different than either of it’s constituent parts.
→ This is a chemical reaction. If we then dissolve that salt in water, we are just mixing the salt molecules with the water molecules. There isn’t any change in the molecules, except who their neighbor is. This is a physical change.
