Physical changes are the changes which takes place in the physical properties of substance. It is reversible in nature. Net energy is zero. No new substance is formed. Example: melting of ice, etc. The changes which take place are temporary.

Chemical change are the changes which take place by a chemical reaction. It is irreversible in nature. Heat is either released or absorb during a reaction.New substance is formed. Example: Burning of candle, etc.
