Learners are neglecting sports because it is all about physical work and to be a sportsmen one should be hardworking and have patience but the learners doesn't want to work hard.

There are various reason for the learners to neglect the sport.
The students  now-a-day becoming more lazy and hate to hard work due to the introduction of technology. They are willing to play with phones or computers because these things attract them and they find them easy . They play video games in computer or mobile so don't get interested in the physical sports.

Also, the lack of motivation led them to stay silent So they don't get involved in the physical games at school level.
