Heyy mate here is your answer...

A study of impact damage to mangosteen fruit at different maturity stages was undertaken. The fruit were dropped from various heights onto a concrete floor, with greater damage to the pericarp being recorded as the drop-height was increased. The effect on half-ripe fruit was greater than that on unripe samples when dropped from identical heights. The impacts only had a slight effect on the respiration rate, but the rate of ethylene production was reduced in damaged fruit, although not significantly so. In general, the total phenolic content in damaged fruit tissue was lower than in control samples, and the reduction was significant for mangosteens at the half-ripe stage. When damaged pericarp tissue was treated with cycloheximide, the resulting areas were slightly less firm and had a slightly higher phenolic content. It is not clear whether impact damage promotes protein synthesis.

~Hope it helps you.....!☺️☺️~
