the amount of heat conducted by the rod will become 2 times provided other

it is given that, thickness of a conducting metal rod is halved.

we know, amount of heat conducted by the rod is , dQ/dt = KA dT/dx

where K is thermal conductivity, A is cross sectional area , dT is change in temperature and dx is thickness of conducting metal.

if K, A and dT remain constant.

then, dQ/dt ∝ 1/dx

I mean, heat conducted by the rod is inversely proportional to thickness of rod.

now, if the thickness of a conducting metal rod is halved then heat conducted by the rod will be twice.
