▶ Question - A 40kg slab rests on a frictionless floor. A 10kg block rests on top of the slab the static coefficient of friction between the block and the slab is 0.60 while the kinetic coefficient is 0.40 the 10kg block is acted upon by a horizontal force of 100N the resulting acceleration of the slab will be?

▶ Explanation :-

=> Limiting friction between block and slab = μmg

= 0.6 × 10 × 10

= 60 N

Applied force on Block A = 100 N

As the applied force on Block A is 100 N. So the Block will slip over a slab.

=> Kinetic friction = μmg

= 0.4 × 10 × 10

= 40 N

This Kinetic friction helps to move the slab

∴ Acceleration = Force / Mass

= 40 N / 40 kg

= 1 m / s^2
