The vibrations from the vibrations move in the form of waves (similar to waves coming from the surface of a rock falling into a pond and circular waves moving around) when we vibrate a sounding object (eg, a diaphragm). The resulting vibration pushes the air around it. The same compressed air returns to the diapason branches. This sweep in the air is triggered by sound waves and compressions and openings continue several times per second. In this case, the waves can travel a great distance, if not obstructed, (if we stick our ears to the ground we can hear the sound of a moving train or even the horseshoe of a moving horse from afar) but if the noise in the way obstructs Solid and hard like a wall or rock, the sound echoes.
