Physics questions help? if hes going down why is a negative? shouldnt it be positive?

because friction works in opposite direction.

when an object is going up it possess positive acceleration . when it is coming down it possess negative acceleration that is deceleration because while and object is going up it possess some velocity . with increase in velocity acceleration also increases. with decrease in velocity acceleration also decreases. hope this helps u . if help plz mark it as brain list
