Subject: Exercising the right to vote
Sir:
I am writing to your good self to express my deep concern over the problem of people not using their right to vote. In the recently held Lok Sabha Elections, 2019 in some states the percentage of people participating in voting was very low. It is quite disturbing. If people don’t exercise their right to vote, how will a fair and favorable government will be elected.
The right to vote gives the people of a country power to get rid of all the ills that their country might be facing. If the Government is not administering the nation honestly and progressively, the people can change that government by using their right to vote.
I appeal to the people to exercise their right to vote on priority basis. The Government should also encourage people to exercise their right to vote. Kindly give my views space in your esteemed daily. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Vinita

Sub: Pollution destroying the ecological balance of Kanpur
Sir
I write this letter to express my deep concern over the problem of pollution, which is affecting the environment of Kanpur drastically. As you already know there are more than 500 tanneries. These tanneries release at least 300 million liters of waste water into the Ganges on daily basis. This waste water contains harmful chemicals like arsenic, cadmium,, mercury, and chrome. These chemicals have already killed the aquatic life. Moreover the smoke arising from the factory chimneys, has polluted the air badly.
I want to draw the attention of the people as well as the concerned authorities to the seriousness of the problem. The tannery owners are violating the environmental laws by not treating the waste water and the smoke before releasing it into the environment. The corrupt environment officers are letting it happen just because of the hush-money they receive from the culprit owners. But we the residents are suffering. Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to the public to raise their voice against these unethical practices. I also appeal the environment ministry to look into the matter and take immediate action against the law breakers.
Yours truly,
A Concerned Resident of Kanpur
