Answer:

From the story of Daedalus and Icarus, they both were defined as very different characters.

Where Daedalus was a genius inventor with a jealousy streak, Icarus was his son who was seen goofing around most of the times. He had it coming to him when he explicitly went against his fathers instructions and flew closer to the sun ending up dead in the sea because the wax on his fake human wings( created by Daedalus), melted.

THE SIMILAR CHALLENGES THEY HAD?

The challenges which these two characters faced was the challenge of being trapped in the labyrinth in Crete, created and designed by Daedalus.

They were both trapped there with a monster named Minotaur. He was half human and half beast. Making it difficult for the father and son to escape.

Next they faced the challenge of actually escaping this labyrinth. Because Daedalus was an inventor, he created wings for humans to fly. Then the father and son faced this challenge of flying off ( not to high near the sun, because the wax on the human wings would melt, not too low because sea had salty water which would wash off the wax)

In fact, whilst facing this challenge, Icarus fell to his death.
