The electronic configuration of Carbon is 1s² ,2s²,2p²The electronic configuration of Boron is : 1s²,2s²,2p¹
The atomic size of the boron is greater than that of the Carbon. Due to the less size of the Carbon atom, the electrons present in the Outermost shell of the atom suffers the attraction towards the nucleus. As a result of which the Nuclear charge in the atom of the carbon inc increases.
For the same reason, on moving from left to right across the Period nuclear charge increases due to the decrease in atomic size.
