Pickles contain acid because they are made out of such items which makes them acidic in nature and if these are stored in metallic containers, the metal will react with the acid present in the pickles and form metal oxides. That's why, pickles are not stored in metallic containers and thus stored in glass jars.

we keep pickles in glass containers than in metal containers because the citric acids in the pickles react to the metal, therefore this reaction formed in pickle when eaten can harm us , there can be chemical reactions in our body.Thus harmful.
