Answer:

(i) If the magnetic needle attracts the one end of the solenoid then it is south pole and if it is repelled by it mark it as the north pole.

(ii) The end of the solenoid through which current flows in the clockwise direction is the south pole and the end through which current flows in the anti-clockwise direction is the north pole.

(iii) When a solenoid is held in the right hand and if the four fingers represent the direction of the current flow, then the thumb represents the direction of the North pole.
