(a) Presence of the animal in India : Royal Bengal Tigers are found in the jungles of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Royal Bengal tigers are been endangered now because they are hunted illegally for their skin and some body parts are considered useful for traditional Asian medicine. Besides, Bengal tigers also face population fragmentation, habitat loss, and destruction of their usual prey.
