Contact Forces :
When Force is applied physically through a direct contact between the two bodies , it is called Contact Forces .
For example : Muscular Forces, Frictional Forces are the examples of contact Forces . Cycling , pushing and pulling the drawer of a table , kicking a ball , etc ; are some other examples of contact Forces.
Contact Force are of three types :
Muscular Force :
------------------------------------------------
Muscular Force or Biological Force , is a contact force. The force applied by the muscles of the body is called muscular Force.
For example :- while lifting the school bag, you apply force using the muscles of your arm and you can feel the strain on your muscles as you lift the bag. When you let the bag go down, your muscles relax. We need to apply such muscular forces all the time- to push and pull things, to squeeze water out of wet clothes, to chew food, to walk or to run.
Animals , birds and insects too apply muscular Force to move around in so many different ways.
Oxen use muscular Force to pull a Bullock cart. Similarly , a camel uses muscular Force to carry people and load across the desert.
Frictional force :
--------------------------------------------------
The force acting between two surfaces in contact and tending to oppose motion is called the Frictional force. It is a contact force which slows down and stops the moving object.
For example :- when we roll a rubber ball along a surface, After a few seconds the ball slows down and then stops. The rolling ball stops due to Friction. The friction between the ball and the surface of the earth stops the movement of rolling ball. The surface of the earth applies force on the ball or any other object in a direction opposite to it's motion.
Friction helps you in walking . When you walk , there is friction between your foot or the sole of your shoe and the ground. This prevents you from slipping.
Friction helps you to write, when you write, there is friction between your pen and the paper on which you are writing.
Elastic Force :
--------------------------------------------------
When we stretch, twist or bend certain objects like a spring, rubber band or sponge their shape and size changes . The force which acts is called elastic Force.
Some examples are twisting of wet clothes , pulling or stretching a spring from both the ends , pressing a sponge etc.
