According to the Archimedes Principle,
Weight of water displaced= The Buoyant force acting on Cork.
As in the given question, 1/4 th of the cork is immersed , so it displaces a volume of water equal to its own volume.
Hence Weight of water with 1/4 th cork =Weight of floating cork
so, Apparent weight=Real weight - Buoyant force
=1/4-1/4=0
