Froth Flotation is the process for the concentration of the Sulphide ores. 

Froth Flotation process works on the Principles that the denser particles are settles at the bottom and the lighter particles (or Gangue) along with the oil settles at the top which can be easily removed. 


For the Froth Flotation process, Pine oils are used because it mainly consisted of the cyclic terpene alcohols, which helps in concentrating the ores easily. 

Pine oil is used in froth flotation process because it does not have affinity towards water because of the hydrophobic chemicals as its constituents and it also attracts impurities which can be washed away.
