It is given that pipe A can fill the pool in 5 days and pipe B can fill the pool in 3 days.
So, in 1-day pipe B fills 1/ 5 part of the pool and pipe B fills 1/3 of the pool.
If they work together, in one day they will fill (1/5 + 1/3) part of the pool = 8/15 part of the pool.
The remaining part to be filled = 1- 8/15 = 7/15 part.
Now Pipe B stops to work.
Therefore pipe A will need 7/15/ 1/5 time for the balance to fill = 7/15 X 5/1 = 7/3 days.
Therefore the total time taken is 1 + 7/3 days = 10/3 days = 240/3 = 80 hours = 3 days and 8 hours
