Pipe a can fill a cistern in 6 hours and pipe B can fill it in 8 hour both the pipes are opened and after 2 hour pipe a is closed how much time will B take to fill the remaining part of the tank

pipe B can fill it in 8 hour

Pipe B can fill in  1hr = 1/8

Pipe A & B can fill in 1 hr together = 1/6 + 1/8

= 7/24

Pipe A & B can fill in 2 hr together  = 2 * 7/24 = 7/12

Cistern remained to fill = 1 - 7/12 = 5/12

Pipe B will Take time = (5/12)/(1/8)  = 10/3  hr

pipe B will take 10/3 hrs more
