Answer:

  • In 1-hour A+B+C fill = 1/6 part
  • In 1- hour A + B fill = 1/8 part
  • So in 1-hour C alone can fill=1/6- 1/8 = (4–3)/24= 1/24 - part.
  • Similarly in 1-hour A- alone can do =1/6–1/12= 1/12- part.
  • So in 1- hour A+ C can do= 1/24+1/12 =(1+2)/24= 3/24= 1/8
  • Therefore A and C can fill the tank in = 8- hours.
  • [The Question is not given correctly. It should be as ;
  • A +B+ C CAN FILL THE TANK IN 6- HOURS NOT 6- DAYS.
  • SIMILARLY A+ C CAN FILL THE TANK IN HOW MANY HOURS, NOT DAYS.]

Answer:

pipe B can fill the tank in 24 hrs

Step-by-step explanation:

Let pipe B can fill a tank in x hrs

B fill in 1 hr=1/x

and pipe A can fill in 12 hrs

A fills part of tank in 1 hr=1/12

pipe A  and B in 8 hrs fills fuu tank

so 8*(1/12+1/x)=1

8(x+12)/12x=1

8x+96=12x

4x=96

x=96/4=24

pipe B can fill the tank in 24 hrs
