Pipe a can fill a tank in 4 hours and b in 6 hours and c can empty it in 4 hours. Both the pipes are opened such that an alarm is adjusted to open the tank c when the tank is 3/4th full

Since A can fill full tank in 45 hours,it can fill 1/45 tank in 1 hour.
And,similarly,B can empty 1/36 tank in 1 hour.
In 1 hour,both A and B can fill (1/45-1/36) part of tank .Now, 1/45 - 1/36 = -9 /45×36 which is negative.
So,NOT possible to fill the full tank when both A and B are open.
