The value of x is 6 hr when tank can be filled by pipe A in 45 hours, pipe B is 50% more efficient than pipe A.

Given that,

A tank can be filled by pipe A in 45 hours, pipe B is 50% more efficient than pipe A, and pipe C can do so in 7.5 hours less than pipe B. If the ratio of the tanks filled by (A + B) combined to the tanks filled by pipe C is 1:2, then A and B opened together after X hours, both pipes closed, and pipe C filled the remaining tank after (X + 9) hours.

We have to find out what X is worth.

We know that,

A = 45hr

B = \frac{45}{3} \times 2 = 30 hr

Total capacity of tank = 45×2 = 90 units

Efficiency of A = 2 units per hr

Efficiency of B = 3 units per hr

C = \frac{90}{3}-7.5 = 22.5 hr

C efficiency = \frac{90}{22.5 } = 4 unit per hr

According to given

\frac{5x}{4(x+9)} =\frac{1}{2}

10x-4x=36

x = 6 hr

Therefore, The value of x is 6 hr.
