Pipe A can fill an empty tank in 36 hours. Pipe B can fill the same empty tank in 28 hours. At first pipe A is opened for 4.5 hours and then it is closed. After that pipe B was opened, in how much time pipe B can fill the remaining tank ? (in​

Time taken by pipe A is 36 hours

so for 1 hr Pipe A can fill (1/36) part

Time taken by pipe B is 28 hours

so for 1 hr Pipe B can fill (1/28) part

 \frac{1}{36}  \times 4.5 +  \frac{1}{28}  \times x = 1

x =  \frac{7 \times 28}{8}  = 24.5hrs

so B takes 24.5 hrs more to fill the tank
