Answer:

I am using LCM method to solve this problem,

A --- 5

B --- 6

C --- -12

for total Capacity, take the LCM of 5,6,12 that is 60

Now per hour capacity of A= 60/5 = 12

per hour capacity of B= 60/6 = 10

per hour capacity of A= 60/-12 = -5

thus per hour capacity of A+B+C = 12+10-5 = 17

thus total time = total capacity/ per hour capacity = 60/17 hours

Answer:

=60/17 hrs

Step-by-step explanation:

Pipe A can fill the tank in 5 hours so it's 1/5 or 12/60 per hour Pipe B can fill the tank in 6 hours so it's 1/6 or 10/60 per hour Pipe C can empty the tank in 12 hours so it's 1/12 or 5/60 per hour Pipe A & B is 22/60 per hour Pipe C is 5/60 per hour Revised Filling rate is 17/60 per hour = 3.529 hours
