To find the answer, we have to subtract 3  1/2 by 3/4

To do that, we need to make them the same kin of fraction

So we can make 3  1/2 an improper fraction,

so 3  1/2 = 7/2

Good, now they are the same kind of fraction.

But they do not have the same denominator.

So we have to make them the same denominator by making them equivalent.

7 x 2 = 14

/                = 14/4         Now that they have the same denominators, we just

2 x 2 = 4                      do the math, so 14/4 - 3/4 = 11/4

Therefore, the answer is 11/4 or you can make it a mixed fraction = 2 3/4

Hope this helped! (Plz mark me brainly, I spent a lot of time on this answer. It would mean a lot!)
