Pituitary gland is called master gland because it secrete several hormones which are very important for us. It is present in brain. The important hormone secreted by pituitary gland is growth hormone.

If this hormone is present in our body in extremely large amount then the person becomes giant

whereas if a person has very low growth hormone then the person remains dwarf.
