Answer :-

  • Total pieces 7 m thread = 20
  • Total thread left = 2 m

Given :-

  • Total length of thread = 142 m

To Find :-

  • Total pieces 7 m thread = ?
  • Total thread left = ?

Explanation :-

As above given, we have the total length of thread and we have to find the number of pieces of 7 m from the given the length of the thread and also left thread.

\blue { \boxed { \bf \bigstar \; No. \; of \; pieces \; 7 \; m = \dfrac{Total \; length}{7} \; \bigstar }}

 \rm : \; \implies No. \; of \; thread \; of \; 7 \; m = \dfrac{142}{7}

As we know, 142 is not divisible by 7. But 140 is divisible by 7. So, we will use 140 and we will subtract 140 from 142.

 \rm : \; \implies No. \; of \; thread \; of \; 7 \; m = \dfrac{140}{7} \; Pieces

 \green { \underline { \boxed { \bf : \; \implies No. \; of \; thread \; of \; 7 \; m = 20 \; Pieces }}}

Now, Finding the length of thread left

 \rm : \; \implies Length \; of \; thread \; left = 142 - 140 \; \; m

\green { \underline { \boxed { \bf : \; \implies Length \; of \; thread \; left = 2 \; \; m }}}

Hence, the number of pieces of 7 m is 20 and length of thread left is 2 m.
