very simple .....

for a rhombus the opposite sides are parallel and equal so show the alternate angles are equal so here...

y and 40degree are alternate angle so they are equal as the opposite sides are parallel...

y=40°

and ...

$x = \frac{180 - 2y}{2} \\ = > x = \frac{180 - 80}{2} \\ = > x = 50$
