1.a^2+2b=3 ,ab=-5
Squaring both sides,
(a^2+2b)^2=3^2
a^2+4b^2+4ab=9
a^2+4b^2+4(-5)=9
a^2+4b^2=9+20
a^2+4b^2=29 ans.
2.(a+2b)^3=3^3
use identity (a+b)^3 =?a^3+b^3+3ab(a+b)
a^3+8b^3+6ab(a+2b)=27
a^3+8b^3+6(-5)(3)=27
a^3+8b^3=117 ans
