Soap is biodegradable but detergent is non biodegradable soap cannot be used with hard water but detergent can be used. Soaps do not form lather because their all intensity gets reduced while reacting with magnesium ions present in hard water.soaps forms micilles attached with the dirt particles and settle down in water.
