all need oxygen to breathe not only oxygen . plants need carbon dioxide oxide to breathe so wee take in air (with nitrogen oxygen carbon-dioxide and other gases ) and we breathe out only carbon dioxide plants take in the air filled with carbon dioxide and give out oxygen which is a symbiotic process( helps each other ) thank you
