Rs2=4+8=12ohm
In the next series connection
Rs2=(x+5)ohm
Now the both become a parallel connection
1/12+1/(x+5)=1/Rp
Rp=12(x+5)/12+x+5
4=12x+60/17+x
68+4x=12x+60
8x=8
X=1
