Answer:

a=110° (vertically opposite angles)

180°-110°=b (co-interior angles measure up to 180°)

b=70°

a-b=110°-70°

=> 40° is the answer

a option is the correct one

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :-

From the given figure ,

a = 110°

Since they are vertically opposite angles

and

a and b are the interior angles on the same side to the transversal

So they are supplementary

=> a+b = 180°

=> 110° +b = 180°

=> b = 180°-110°

=> b = 70°

We have,

a = 110°

b = 70°

Their difference = a-b

=> 110°-70°

=>40°

Therefore a-b = 40°

Answer:-

The value of a-b for the given problem is 40°

Used formulae:-

Two parallel lines Intersected by a transversal then

  • Vertically opposite angles are equal.

  • Corresponding angles are equal.

  • Alternative interior angles are equal.

  • Interior angles on the same side to the transversal are supplementary.

  • Exterior angles on the same side to the transversal are supplementary.
