hiii.....it started from champaran in bihar in 1916....
the farmers wer forced to grow indigo as it was a cash crop and it gav a lot of profit to the britishers.
grwing of indigo,led to the decrease in soil fertility after which fodd crops could not be grown.thus leading to famines and .
this was 1st attempt of satyagrah in india of gandhiji.

The indigo planters movement was organised by Mahatma Gandhi at Champaran in Bihar in 1916.
The main objective to promote such a movement is to make the planters aware of the unfair laws which were coined by the Britishers to trouble them.
