Answer:

Speed of the cars are 60 km/hr and 40 km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Distance between point A and B is 100 km

let car starting from point A is Car A and Car starting from point B is Car B.

To find: Speeds of the cars

let Speed of Car A is x km/hr.

    Speed of Car B is y km/hr

According to the question, (using speed, distance, time formula)

5x - 5y = 100

x - y = 20 .......................(1)

x + y = 100 ....................(2)

Add equation (1) and (2),

2x = 120

x = 60

put this value in equation (2),

60 + y = 100

y = 40

Therefore, Speed of the cars are 60 km/hr and 40 km/hr.
