places A and B are 30 km apart and they are on a straight road Hamid travel from A to B on bike at a same time Joseph start from B on bike travel toward A they meet each other after 20 minutes if Joseph would have started from B at the same time but in the opposite direction ( instead of toward A ) Hamid would have caught him after 3 hours find the speed of Hamid and Joseph

Let the speed of Hamid be x km/hr and the speed of the Joseph be y km/hr.
Distance travelled by the Hamid in 3 hrs = 3x km
Distance travelled by the Joseph in 3 hrs = 3y km
Distance between the Hamid and Joseph = 30 km
Therefore, 3x - 3y = 30
Or, x - y = 10 ...........( 1 )
Distance travelled by the Hamid in 20 min = x/3 km
Distance travelled by Joseph in 20 min = y/3 km
Therefore, (x + y)/3 = 30
Or, x + y = 90 ........... ( 2 )
By solving these two equations, we obtain x = 50, y = 40
Therefore, speed of Hamid = 50 km/hr
And, speed of Joseph = 40 km/hr

sanjaydagade78p8723y: please fast
mohammedraiyanp2alyt: wait
mohammedraiyanp2alyt: formula of distance is Speed × Time
mohammedraiyanp2alyt: time was 20 min or 1/3 hr and speed was x. so, (1/3) × x = x/3 km
mohammedraiyanp2alyt: now is it clear to you
