West Bengal: West Bengal produces about 65 per cent of the country's lute and occupies the leading position in the production. The main jute growing districts in the state of West Bengal are Cooch Behar, Nadia, Bardhaman, Murshidabad, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, Malda, 24-Parganas (South & North) and Medinipur.
