Durgapuja festival is now not only the grand festival of Bengalees, it's also our national fest . We enjoy this festival and wait for this festival. There's a saying in Bengali “ Bari mase taero parbon” , that means in Bengal , we consider a must - festival in every month, even more. Of the festivals , Durga Puja is the largest and grandest. New dress , various types of foods , roaming from one Mandap to another with friends and relatives , listening new songs or musics, purchase and reading new published magazines , visit to friend or relative house - all that take place during puja festival is common to Bengalees.
In my childhood days I have had lots of interest in this festival. We used to visit Puja Mandap when Sahshodhar Pal, an artist had been making the idols of the goddess Durga and other idols by the mud with his assistant . It took more than one month. When the muddy idols dried , it began to start colouring and lastly drew the eyes of all God, goddess and Asur . Everyday in the dawn and afternoon I used to visit the Puja Mandap to see all these activities. Moreover, in the morning we collected Shiuli Flowers. It's remembered that those days we didn't get dress more than one. Now the scinerio has changed. Our daughter, even we put on every day a new dress during four days ceremony. That time we got only one dress, but had enjoyment much , but now we have several new dresses, but lost that enthusiasm.
When I was in my teaching profession, there's a big puja vacation . We generally used to wait for this vacation. Every puja vacation we have travelled many tourist spots in India. Generally we started our journey on Nabami having seen our local city mondaps. Sometimes in the night train we traveled. Once we visited Delhi Chittaranjan Durga puja . There we visited so many mandaps . It's beautiful experience we gathered there. Next we went to Hardwar. There we participated in a Mandap which was arranged by the Kankhal Aanandamayee Aashram. We reached Badrinath at Nabami and there we visited some Durga Puja. Some years ago we visited Aassam and Meghalaya , there we enjoyed the Durga Puja festival.
Recently, we stayed two years in Rajasthan Kota City . We attended Bengalee Association Durgapuja where we gathered lots of experiences . We participated in cultural programs. Everyday we used to have grand lunch and dinner in the Puja Mandap.
This year we're going through a pandemic situation. Not safe for outing . We have to take care about it. Must attend one day in the lunch to my brother - in - laws house. They invited us to attend . This year may not the same like past years. So everyone should catious and careful about health and hygienic. Never should go in the crowd. Use musks . Wash your hands with soap after coming back from outside. This is all about my plans to spend during this grand festival. I want to about you
