Given : planet X has mass 40 times and diameter 4 times that of  the earth.

To Find : the acceleration due to gravity of planet X

Solution:

g = GM/R²

Mass is 40 times

Hence Mass =  40M

diameter 4 times => Radius 4 times

Hence  Radius = 4R

g' =  G (40M)/(4R)²

=> g' =   (GM/R²) (40/16)

=> g' =   (g) (5/2)

=> g' =  2.5 g

2.5 time of acceleration due to gravity of earth

g' =  2.5 * 10  = 25 m/s²

the acceleration due to gravity of planet X  is 2.5 times that of earth

approx 25 m/s²

the acceleration due to gravity of planet X is

\huge\mathfrak{\fcolorbox{crimson}{violet}{detailedanalysis}}

the acceleration due to gravity of planet X is

g=GM/R²

so we can start:-

here , M= 40 m

R= 4R

g'= G(40M)/(4R)²

g'=(GM/R²)/(40/16)

g'= (g) (5/2)

g'= 2.5 g

g'=2.5×10 m/s²

= 25 m/s²

the acceleration due to gravity of planet X is 25 m/s²
