Planning is a process of thinking before doing. Manager make plan and implement in the organisation. He ensures whether the work is going on as per plan or not.If he finds any deviation, he takes corrective action. He ensures that the same deviation should not repeated again by the employees.

If the manager has a proper plan then he could be able to make a control over employees by which the planned work is finished as per the planned one.He continuously checked the actual result with the planned one.By this way, planning provides a basis of control by the managers in the organisation.
