The chromosome number does not change in the interphase of cell cycle. So, the G2 phase will have 12 chromosomes.

Answer:
The plant cell will contain 12 chromosomes after G₂ phase of the next cell cycle.
In a cell cycle, DNA synthesis takes place only in S phase. After this phase, the DNA content doubles but the number of chromosomes remains the same.
It is accomplished by formation of the sister chromatids of the chromosome. Hence, after S phase the DNA content and number of chromatids double but the number of chromosomes remains the same i.e. 2n or 12 in this case.
