Exosmosis will take place since the water potential of solution is far less than water potential of cell( on adding solute/ more concentration of solute results in lower water potential) and movement of water takes place from higher water potential to lower water potential. The cell will become plasmolysed.

Cell will shrink

Explanation:

In the given question, the concentration of solute inside the sap of the cell is only 0.5% and the concentration of the solute outside the cell is 5%.

This shows that the solute concentration of the cell is much lower and will have the high water amount and the solute concentration of the solution is higher and therefore low water potential compared to the cell.

We know, the water always moves from the higher concentration to lower concentration through osmosis and therefore in the question, the water will move from the cell sap to solution. This leads to the shrinkage of the cytoplasm and the cell will shrink.
