Answers. In animals, mitotic cell division is only seen in the diploid somatic cells whereas plant shows mitotic division in both haploid and diploid cells. During alteration of generation in certain plants, mitotic division is seen during the haploid stage as well. like gametophyte of bryophyte plants.
