Sundari is the local name of the mangroves found in the Sunderban delta formed by the rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra. Being a mangrove, Sundari tree is also a highly tolerant to saline water and soil. They are either found in the arid/semi-arid regions or in the marshy swampy areas of deltas.
