In nature, most of the wild plant varieties are green and hence it is not very difficult to correlate 'plants – presence of chlorophylls – photosynthesis' relationship. However, in nature, a small percentage of higher plants (e.g. red varieties of coleus, crotons) do show leaf colour other than green.
