Explanation:

Trees don’t cool or warm the environment. They moderate it. The net effect of trees is that they make the low temperatures warmer and they make the hot temperatures cooler. They do this mostly in their management of water. Maybe I can explain this by explaining that the principal greenhouse gas on earth is water vapor.

One time I visited Death Valley California. The place is an AWFUL desert. That day it went to 130F (54.4C) and that night it went to 23F (-5C) that was in late June. That was because the humidity was essentially 0% and while the sun was up the place roasted and at night the heat radiated off into space. This year the humidity is up closer to 20% and today it is between 110F (43.3C) and 86F (30C) that is what water vapor does.

Personally I find trees wonderful. I have always loved trees. I absolutely adore trees don’t think I don’t but there is a lot of nonsense about trees. Deforestation and desertification go hand in hand. Much effort around the world has been made in recent years to plant trees and many deserts are retreating. The Gobi Desert, the Sahara Desert and many others are being cut into heavily by reforestation efforts.
