• The wind loading forces on the trees affects the adaptation of the trees in various ways. Some trees creates buttress roots to provide themselves with mechanical strength against the wind.
• The amount of time the wind loading forces acting on the tree is called 'presentation time'. The presentation time is the amount of time the tree takes to bend over and then come back to its original position to stand upright.
• This sway by the wind will eventually cause the stem tapering, shortening of branches and small leaves. The wood type of the tree is also affected by the wind.  

Trees endure the wind by adapting themselves to the nature. They would adapt themselves to stronger version when exposed to competitive climatic changes but there are exceptions and threshold.
