CHLOROPHYLL

Plants are green because of chlorophyll, chlorophyll the green pigment present in plants, that gives green colour to leaf. This green pigment present in leaf named as chlorophyll take light from plants which help them to grow , what is basically group of green pigment that that converts Sunlight into energy by the process of photosynthesis without this energy plant would not be able to initiate the process of photosynthesis , which converts water and carbon dioxide into starches that that plants can use for food. The chlorophyll molecule is consisted of A Central magnesium atom surrounded by nitrogen containing structure known as 'Porphyrin ring ; attached to the ring ring is a long carbon hydrogen side chain , which is known as 'Phytol chain'.
