green plant are green because they contain pigment called chlorophyll. chlorophyll absorb certain wavelength of light within the visible light spectrum.

Yes, plants are green in color because they had chlorophyll, the primary facilitator of photosynthesis absorbs blue and red light  and reflects green light because of this plants appears green in color...........,
