Plants do not have a digestive system. Why is it not necessary for them to have a digestive system?

Plants actually don't need one. All they need for their living is carbon dioxide in the air , water and some nutrients .so basically their roots are responsible for the collection of water which contains life-giving nutrients .but we take food as a solid substance which has to be converted into energy. digestive system absorbs valuable nutrients, proteins etc. for our living.
